
Diana Nyakundi
Senior Consultant
Diana is a lawyer with expertise in AI policy and adoption of responsible AI frameworks. She is a Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fellow at Research ICT Africa, working on projects exploring the intersection of AI and its societal impact. She has contributed to key AI initiatives, including serving as the Regional Network Manager for the Global Index on Responsible AI, co-leading the development of Zambia’s National Data Policy, and as Kenya’s country expert for UNESCO’s Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM).
She was also part of the working group for Kenya’s AI strategy development and is currently consulting with UNESCO, assisting with RAM research and implementation in Rwanda, Mauritius, Ethiopia, and Tanzania.
Diana is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, holds an Executive Certificate in Law, Policy, and Technology from IE University and an AI Policy Analyst Certification from the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Policy (CAIDP). She is deeply committed to understanding how emerging technologies are used, how they interact with users, and their broader impact on society.
