Senior Consultant
Boru is a lawyer specializing in artificial intelligence governance, technology, and data law. He consults with the World Bank’s Legal Operations Policy Group, Technology & Innovation. He is experienced in advising on adoption of ethical AI systems and development of AI governance frameworks.
Previously, he practiced as a corporate lawyer at TripleOKLaw Advocates LLP, a leading Kenyan law firm. He has also conducted research at the Institute of Law and AI, focusing on AI governance, particularly International Network of AI Safety Institutes. He brings a wealth of knowledge across a range of interesting technology law issues including artificial intelligence and data governance.
Boru holds an LL.M. in Competition, Innovation, and Information Law from NYU Law, where he was a Hauser Global Scholar, and a Graduate Editor at the NYU Journal of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law. He possesses an LL.B. from Riara University, and also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
